Platelet Rich Plasma

WHAT IS PLATELET RICH PLASMA?

PLATELET RICH PLASMA involves separation of whole blood into components which can be concentrated, most notably, into platelets and white blood cells. These components release proteins that initiate and coordinate the body’s healing and repair responses. Platelets in particular release high concentrations of growth factor proteins that are needed to activate the body’s repair mechanisms.

PRP IS PRODUCED WHEN AUTOLOGOUS (YOUR OWN) WHOLE BLOOD IS SEPARATED INTO 3 LAYERS:

    ● RBCs (red blood cells)
    ● Buffy Coat (made up of platelets and white blood cells)
    ● Platelet Poor Plasma (PPP)

The PRP products Karli Health creates are made by separating your whole blood in a centrifuge, then meticulously collecting platelets and white blood cells if indicated from that blood.

WHAT’S UNIQUE ABOUT THIS PROCESS?
It can be customized to target a specific concentration or total dose of platelets to meet each patient’s individual needs. That means the finished product can be produced with the exact composition your physician requests. We know this because we measure every cell and platelet in our products to verify that they are within target parameters to provide the best chance for success.

A typical PRP treatment procedure involves drawing a small sample of the patient's blood. This sample is then spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, forming PRP. This PRP is then carefully injected into the injured area under ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance.

The entire procedure, from blood draw to injection, typically takes about an hour to an hour and a half.

The cost of PRP therapy varies depending on the specific condition being treated, the number of injections needed, and other factors. Generally, costs range from $1,500 to $3,000 per injection. Please note that insurance companies do not cover Regenerative Medicine, including PRP Therapy.

PLATELE T- RICH PLASMA — A DISTINCT THERAPY

"PRP is not a stem cell therapy — but it's a powerful biologic therapy that harnesses your body's own healing intelligence, concentrating growth factors from your blood and delivering them precisely where your body needs to repair, regenerate, and recover. A strong stand-alone option, and a natural complement to our regenerative protocols."
